SMT Jobs in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand at QuickCircuit – Electronics Manufacturing Solutions

Title: SMT

Company: QuickCircuit – Electronics Manufacturing Solutions

Location: Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand

Company Description QuickCircuit – Electronics Manufacturing Solutions is a long-established partner to local and international businesses, providing full turn-key electronics manufacturing from initial prototype through to ongoing production and distribution. With facilities in Auckland and Christchurch, the company manages the complete manufacturing journey, including component procurement, PCB assembly, box-build, warehousing, and direct distribution. QuickCircuit offers customers a single trusted partner instead of multiple suppliers. Since 1999, the company has focused on building long-term relationships through high-quality assemblies, clear communication, and strong customer care. Quality is supported by AS9100 Aerospace Certification, one of the most rigorous manufacturing standards, applied across all products and processes.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site SMT role based at QuickCircuit’s Auckland facility. The SMT team member will operate and monitor surface-mount technology equipment, including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection systems, to ensure accurate and efficient PCB assembly.

Daily responsibilities include setting up and loading components, verifying job documentation, performing visual and automated inspections, and carrying out basic equipment maintenance and adjustments. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with production and quality teams to meet schedule and quality targets, and recording production data in line with company processes and AS9100 quality standards. The SMT team member is expected to follow health and safety guidelines and contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing workflows.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating SMT production equipment such as pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, and reflow ovens.
  • Skills in PCB assembly processes, including component recognition, placement, and handling of fine-pitch and complex packages.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including assembly drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing quality practices, such as visual inspection, AOI usage, IPC standards, and ESD control.
  • Competence in basic troubleshooting of SMT process issues, machine alarms, and common assembly defects.
  • Attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and ability to work accurately with small components and repetitive tasks.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Previous experience in electronics manufacturing or SMT production is highly beneficial; AS9100 or other quality-system experience is an advantage.
  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
