About The Role
The Brand Studio team at Google is seeking a Social Media Manager to spearhead social media initiatives that enhance brand visibility, engagement, and reputation. This role involves managing social media channels, overseeing real-time social issues, and coordinating cross-functional projects to ensure alignment with Google’s branding objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing social media strategies, monitoring brand sentiment, and engaging with online communities to foster advocacy and trust. Working closely with insights specialists, creatives, and engineers, the Social Media Manager will help craft compelling narratives that demonstrate how Google’s products address real-world challenges, connecting technology with user needs in innovative ways.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in consumer-facing marketing
- At least 3 years of experience in social media management
- Proven experience managing traditional and emerging social media channels
- Experience leading cross-functional or cross-team projects
- Knowledge in social issues management and real-time social response
- Ability to work Thursday through Monday, including weekends and evenings
- Experience with social listening analysis and reporting tools
- Familiarity with social media content publishing, response, and reporting platforms like Sprinklr and YouTube Studio
- Understanding of internet culture and social platform norms
- Strong creative skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent program management and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee off-hours social media processes, ensuring timely responses and content updates during Thursday to Monday shifts
- Drive social monitoring and listening efforts to identify brand issues and opportunities, collaborating with analysts
- Publish social content, perform quality assurance, and optimize posts based on performance metrics
- Monitor audience engagement, analyze reactions, and adapt strategies to increase interaction and reach
- Lead community engagement initiatives, fostering positive interactions and managing content approvals
- Coordinate with agency partners and contractors to review and approve deliverables
- Stay informed about social media trends, insights, and market analyses, providing regular updates to the team
- Support crisis management and real-time social responses to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities
