Our Client

We're building clothing for modern life in motion. From workouts to workdays, airports to after-hours — we create products that move seamlessly across moments, routines, and identities. We believe the future of lifestyle brands sits at the intersection of culture, utility, storytelling, and technology. We're looking for a Sourcing Lead who can own the supply chain from the ground up — someone who can negotiate like a merchant, think like a brand builder, move like an operator, and build vendor relationships that give our client a durable competitive edge. This role is not about “managing purchase orders.” It’s about building the sourcing engine that powers everything Our Client makes.

What You’ll Lead

Fabric Sourcing

  • Own fabric sourcing across India and key international markets — wovens, knits, technical fabrics, sustainable materials.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with mills in Surat, Tirupur, Ludhiana, and offshore markets including Bangladesh, Turkey, China, and Portugal.
  • Translate seasonal briefs and design intent into material solutions that are on-quality, on-cost, and on-time.
  • Stay ahead of material innovation — bring new fabric stories, finishes, and sustainability options to the table before the team asks.

Trims Sourcing

  • Lead all trims sourcing end-to-end: zippers, buttons, labels, hang tags, elastics, hardware, packaging, and accessories.
  • Build a trim library that reflects the brand's aesthetic and quality standards.
  • Develop vendor options across price tiers so the team always has choices, not just constraints.

Garment Sourcing

  • Manage CMT and FOB garment sourcing across domestic and offshore factories.
  • Build a factory matrix — knowing which vendors are right for which product categories, price points, and volumes.
  • Work closely with production and QA to ensure vendor capability matches what we're building.

Costing and Negotiations

  • Own all cost negotiations across fabric, trims, and garments with a clear mandate: best landed cost without compromising quality.
  • Build and challenge cost sheets — know what things should cost, not just what vendors quote.
  • Track commodity movements, currency dynamics, and market shifts to protect margins and inform buying decisions.
  • Partner with leadership and finance on seasonal cost targets and report against them with clarity.

Vendor Development & Strategy

  • Build a sourcing map for Our Client — diversified, resilient, and built for scale.
  • Identify and onboard new vendors; never let the business be over-indexed on any single supplier.
  • Develop preferred vendor programs that reward the right partners and create competitive tension where needed.
  • Build a long-term sourcing roadmap aligned with where the brand is going — not just where it is today.

Quality & Compliance

  • Set and enforce quality standards across all sourcing categories in partnership with QA.
  • Lead or oversee factory audits — social, technical, and environmental.
  • Stay current on global compliance frameworks, certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, BCI, GRS), and responsible sourcing standards.
  • Drive root cause and corrective action when things go wrong — which they will, and that's fine.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with design, production, merchandising, and leadership to align sourcing decisions with creative and commercial priorities.
  • Feed into the critical path with sourcing timelines that actually hold.
  • Mentor junior sourcing team members as the function grows.
  • Be the person suppliers want to call — and the person the internal team trusts completely.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8-10 years in apparel sourcing — fabric, trims, and garments, not just one of the three.
  • Deep knowledge of the Indian textile ecosystem and at least one major international sourcing market.
  • Someone who can:
    • Negotiate a fabric price with a mill in Surat,
    • Evaluate a new CMT factory in Bangladesh,
    • Build a cost sheet from scratch,
    • Brief a trim vendor on brand aesthetic,
    • And still catch a quality issue in a lab dip.
  • Strong commercial instincts — you understand margin, not just material.
  • Familiarity with factory audits, ethical sourcing standards, and sustainability certifications.
  • High ownership mentality with founder-like energy.
  • Fast, resourceful, relationship-driven, and execution-focused.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

You’ll Thrive Here If You

  • Care deeply about product and craft.
  • Think in systems, not just seasons.
  • Have strong opinions and can back them with data.
  • Move fast without cutting corners on quality.
  • Are the kind of person vendors trust and respect.
  • Want to help build an iconic modern Indian brand for the world.
