The Role

We are looking for a Technical Business Development Lead: someone who understands our platform at a deep, hands-on level and can carry that fluency straight into the sales conversation. This is not a traditional sales hire. It is a technical lead who happens to be excellent in front of customers.

You will own the pipeline from first conversation to signed deal, but you will do it as the person in the room who genuinely understands how the system works. You'll run solutioning sessions, make real technical trade-off decisions on scope and feasibility, translate customer needs into product requirements, and represent DiMuto's technology with authority to customers, partners, and investors alike. Think of it as a product-minded engineer who has moved to the front line of the business.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the solutioning process with customers: understand their requirements at a technical level, map them to DiMuto's platform, and make informed trade-off decisions on scope, feasibility, architecture, and priority.
  • Own business development end to end: identify, engage, and convert prospects across growers, traders, importers/exporters, and financiers, carrying the technical conversation yourself rather than handing it off.
  • Act as the bridge between customers and the product and engineering teams, translating business needs into clear product requirements and feeding market insights back into the roadmap.
  • Deliver credible, technically fluent presentations and product demos to customers, partners, and investors, both remotely and in person.
  • Represent DiMuto at major fresh produce trade exhibitions (Fruit Logistica, Asia Fruit Logistica, IFPA, Macfrut, and regional shows), building relationships and generating qualified leads.
  • Craft proposals, pitch decks, and follow-up communications that lead with value and close deals.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline, tracking opportunities and reporting on progress.
  • Use AI tools (such as Claude) to accelerate research, drafting, deck production, market analysis, and outreach, working smarter and faster than a traditional BD hire.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuinely technical background: a degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience building, shipping, or working deep inside software products.
  • Strong systems thinking: able to understand how a software platform works end to end, reason about capabilities, constraints, and architecture, and make sound technical trade-off decisions during solutioning. A product-management or solutions-engineering mindset is core to this role.
  • Proven ability to translate between technical and commercial audiences, turning customer needs into clear product requirements and explaining complex concepts in plain language.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; credible and persuasive in front of customers, partners, and senior stakeholders, especially when the conversation turns technical.
  • 3+ years in a role blending technical depth with customer-facing work: solutions engineering, technical product management, technical pre-sales, or a technical founder or lead who has owned commercial outcomes.
  • Strong written communication; able to produce polished decks, proposals, and requirements docs independently.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to boost productivity across research, content creation, technical analysis, and outreach. You should be someone who reaches for AI first.
  • Proven ability to work independently and stay productive in a fully remote setup, managing your own pipeline and time across time zones.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally and internationally for trade shows and client meetings.
  • Genuine interest in technology, agriculture, and how digitalization can solve real trade problems.

Nice to Have

  • Existing network in fresh produce, agri-food, or trade finance.
  • Experience with trade finance, invoice factoring, or payment products.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data platforms, or blockchain technology.
  • Hands-on experience shipping product as an engineer or technical PM before moving into a commercial role.
  • Additional languages relevant to APAC or LATAM markets.
