Unreal Engine Environment & Cinematic Artist
We’re looking for a creative and technically strong Unreal Engine artist who can bring worlds to life through high-quality material creation, cinematic lighting, and visually striking camera work. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and creative teams to craft immersive real-time experiences with strong visual storytelling.
Responsibilities
Create high-quality materials and shaders inside Unreal Engine using node-based workflows
Develop realistic and stylized lighting setups for environments, cinema tics, and scenes
Design cinematic camera compositions, sequences, and dynamic angles for trailers, moments, and storytelling
Optimize scenes for performance while maintaining visual quality
Work with post-processing, color grading, volumetrics, reflections, and atmosphere systems
Collaborate with environment artists, animators, and developers to maintain a cohesive visual direction
Create visually compelling renders and in-engine presentations
Utilize Sequencer for cinematic scene creation and camera animation
Ensure lighting and materials support both artistic goals and gameplay readability
Requirements
Strong experience with Unreal Engine
Solid understanding of P workflows, textures, materials, and shaders
Good eye for cinematic composition, framing, and storytelling
Experience with real-time lighting techniques including Lumen, Nanite, GI, and volumetric effects
Understanding of color theory, mood creation, and visual direction
Familiarity with Sequencer and cinematic pipelines
Knowledge of optimization techniques for real-time rendering
Portfolio showcasing material work, lighting setups, and cinematic scenes
Nice to Have
Experience with Blender, Maya, or Substance Painter
Basic knowledge of VFX, Niagara systems, or animation workflows
Experience creating game-ready environments or short cinematic films
Bonus Points
Strong cinematic storytelling instincts
Ability to recreate movie-like visuals inside real-time engines
Passion for games, virtual production, or immersive experiences
