Position Overview
Sanlam Fintech X (SFTX) is looking to fill the role of UX Writer, reporting to the Head of Design. In this role you will collaborate with product, design and business teams to deliver high‑quality, user‑centric content across SFTX’s digital products and channels.
Craft & Execution
- Lead the UX writing craft and output across Sanlam Fintech X, ensuring each project deliverable is of the highest quality.
- Drive UX writing consistency across multiple projects, guiding the direction and supporting design leads with stakeholders and teams as needed.
- Define and inform content based on relevant business, technical, and design considerations.
- Establish best practices and standards of writing for products within Fintech X, and create standards alongside content designers to maintain parity.
- Evolve processes and cultivate continuity across all documentation, managing its distribution and ensuring stakeholders can leverage key content principles and patterns.
Project & Team
- Provide oversight and review of individual project teams’ work; assume overall accountability for deliverables.
- Present, explain, and discuss decisions eloquently, giving feedback to improve overall outcomes.
- Execute UX writing tasks and maintain high‑quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with UX team members, Marketing, BA’s, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to understand objectives, user needs, and behaviours, informing overall direction and solutioning.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in UX writing.
- At least 4 years of content strategy experience.
- Experience working in cross‑functional product teams as a UX writer.
- Experience writing for financial products and markets.
- Experience writing for cross‑channel and cross‑audience experiences.

- Firm understanding of human‑centred design and design thinking mindset and approaches.
- Advanced knowledge of the content landscape, including content design, creation, strategy, marketing, management, and operations.
- History of tackling and solving complex interactive challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain attention to detail across project deliverables and manage version control.
- Advanced problem‑solving skills, including rapid ideation and innovative thinking.
- Knowledge of and curiosity about technology and its impact on UX writing and design solutions.
- Ability to leverage qualitative and quantitative research findings for individual projects and in the broader group context.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced analytics to address business requirements.
- Conduct research using user experience methodologies.
- Plan, design, and execute user testing, including stakeholder interviews, focus groups, contextual inquiry, and usability testing.
- Design solutions and produce user experience outputs, managing the user experience component of projects.
- Project management.
