About The Role
The Video and Motion Graphics Editor at Rising Tide Interactive plays a crucial role in conceptualizing, producing, and delivering compelling political video content tailored for digital platforms. This creative professional is responsible for transforming scripts into visually engaging videos that motivate viewers to take action. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled, innovative, and adaptable editor with a minimum of four years of professional experience in video editing and motion graphics, preferably within the political or advocacy sectors. The role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of digital video best practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position offers flexibility with remote work options or based in Washington, DC, and runs through November 2026, with potential for extension based on mutual interest and business needs. As part of the creative team, the editor will collaborate across departments to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality content that aligns with campaign strategies and platform specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in video editing and motion design
- Proven experience creating video content for digital platforms and social media, especially in political or advocacy contexts
- Strong knowledge of the entire video production process from concept to final edit
- Experience with media asset management platforms
- Understanding of social media video specifications (Reels, Stories, TikTok, etc.)
- Exceptional project management skills with attention to detail and organization
- Quick and efficient editing skills with a good sense of typography and design fundamentals
- Ability to craft compelling pacing, music, graphics, and storytelling elements
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Resilience and flexibility to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Interest or experience in Democratic politics is preferred
- Reside in a U.S. state where the company is authorized to operate (for remote candidates)
- Up-to-date on COVID vaccinations and boosters
Responsibilities
- Take video projects from initial script to final product, ensuring adherence to creative direction and quality standards
- Balance multiple projects at various stages of production, managing timelines effectively
- Utilize original and stock footage, motion graphics, visual effects, audio effects, and animations to produce engaging videos
- Develop and execute creative concepts based on script directions, collaborating with team members to refine ideas
- Stay current with digital video trends and best practices across social media platforms
- Ensure all deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment, communicating any timeline adjustments proactively
- Assist with remote video shoots as needed, supporting logistics and technical setup
- Source and manage stock footage, voiceover artists, and background sound elements
- Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in all video outputs
- Contribute to team brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for ongoing projects
