Job Summary: We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Remote 3D Modeler. You will translate 2D concepts and specifications into high-quality 3D models, texturing, and rendering assets for our dynamic, globally distributed team. As a 3D Modeler, you will bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical execution. You will work closely with our Art Directors, engineers, and fellow designers to craft immersive, high-quality 3D assets for our digital projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality 3D models (both organic and hard-surface) based on concept art, sketches, and reference materials.
- Create and apply realistic or stylized textures, UV maps, materials, and lighting to enhance the visual appeal of 3D assets.
- Balance aesthetic quality with technical constraints by optimizing 3D models and reducing polygon counts for optimal real-time performance.
- Coordinate with design, animation, and engineering teams via Slack, Zoom, and project management tools to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Adjust models, textures, and renders based on feedback from stakeholders and project directors.
- Maintain clean folder structures, organized UVs, and clear asset versioning on cloud-based servers.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, new software developments, and modern rendering techniques.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of professional experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering (a portfolio of previous work is strictly required).
- Advanced knowledge of industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Blender, Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, or ZBrush).
- Proven ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
- Must have an exceptional eye for form, scale, color, proportion, and spatial relationships.
- Familiarity with creating clean UV unwrapping and applying photo-real texture maps.
- A robust, remote-friendly workstation capable of handling complex rendering and 3D modeling tasks.
