Anchor (Client Servicing Lead) Jobs in India at Because
Title: Anchor (Client Servicing Lead)
Company: Because
Location: India
About Because
Because is a Creative Technology company, seven years in, 100 people strong. We've abolished the roles most agencies still run on — designer, editor, coordinator, strategist — because those roles were never the point. They were limits. A person locked into "designer" only ever gets to be as good as design lets them be. A human with AI isn't limited like that. Give someone the judgment and the tools, and they can solve almost any problem in front of them — not just the one their job title assigned them.
That's what a Super Generalist is: someone we've deliberately not boxed in. Trained across AI tools, not trapped inside one skill. Our team comes from NID, NIFT, and no design school at all — self-taught, and just as capable. They've come from Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Kolkata, and everywhere in between. We hire for how someone thinks, not where they trained or where they're from.
There's exactly one thing we didn't abolish, and we didn't by design: judgment with a client, and the responsibility that comes with it. Every other role bent to become general. This one didn't need to — it already was the least automatable, least "job-title-shaped" work in the building. That's the Anchor.
How that plays out in our structure
– Builders — build and train the AI systems the team runs on
– Navigators — Super Generalists who operate across content, design, and marketing using AI tools, unrestricted by any single skill
– Shapers — bring human craft in selectively, where it's genuinely needed — not a checkpoint on everything
– Anchors — the one role we kept, because it was never a limitation to begin with. They own the client relationship and the judgment call — the human thinking behind everything the other 99 people produce
Why this role still asks for specific experience, when nothing else at Because does
Every other seat here is open to generalists who can pick up new tools fast. This one isn't, and that's not a contradiction — it's the same principle applied honestly. The skill Anchors need isn't a tool you learn in a week. It's pattern-recognition earned by sitting across from real clients for years: knowing when "make it pop" means something specific, sensing an unhappy client before they say a word, knowing exactly when to push back. That can't be generalized into. It has to be lived first.
What you'll do
– Be the single point of contact for a set of client accounts
– Turn client conversations into briefs precise enough for the AI-driven production system to execute correctly the first time
– Understand enough marketing, branding, social, and advertising fundamentals to have a real conversation — not just relay messages
– Track delivery, timelines, and quality across every project on your accounts
– Spot when a client is unhappy before they say it, and fix it before it becomes a problem
– Push back on the client when needed, and push back on the internal team when needed
What you need to have
– 5+ years in client servicing, purely from a media or agency background — advertising, branding, digital, or PR agencies, or media houses
– A working grasp of marketing and branding concepts — you don't need to be a strategist, but you can't be lost in the room
– Comfort working alongside AI tools as part of daily workflow (not technical skill — just not intimidated by it)
– Experience managing multiple clients/accounts at once
– Strong written communication — briefs, emails, presentations
– The ability to say "here's what I think you should do" to a client, not just "here's what you asked for"
What we don't want
– Someone whose client servicing background is from IT, SaaS, BPO, or corporate sales — this is a media/agency-only seat
– Someone who's only done coordination — following up, chasing approvals, sending reports
– Someone who needs marketing terms explained to them mid-meeting
– Someone who wants a narrow, single-skill job — that's exactly what we've built against
What you get
– Ownership of real client relationships from day one, not production work
– A seat at one of the few genuinely thought-based, AI-native agencies in the region, working alongside a 100-person team drawn from every part of India
This is an in-office role based in Ahmedabad.
