Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for an Australian freelance editorial writer based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane specialising in stories about tastemakers across a wide range of topics.
The Editorial Writer is responsible for researching, pitching, and writing original, unique, high-quality articles featuring compelling stories and insightful perspectives. Every article must be accompanied by original, non-stock photographs ideally taken by the writer that enhance and complement the story.
Responsibilities include researching and pitching story ideas, writing articles, and submitting completed articles and accompanying original (non-stock) photographs through our in-house CMS, while ensuring all content aligns with our brand voice and editorial standards.
Qualifications
- Strong editorial and writing skills, with the ability to produce original, engaging, and high-quality content on tastemakers and emerging trends.
- Ability to provide original, non-stock photographs—ideally taken by the writer—to accompany each article. Photographs do not need to be professional.
- A genuine passion for journalism, with a curiosity for discovering under-the-radar stories, people, and cultural trends.
- A background in journalism and the ability to craft well-structured, compelling narratives.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and passionate about journalism as a craft.
- Ability to consistently deliver approximately 0.5–1 article per week.

- Must be physically based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
