Join the City of Victoria as a Leadhand in Sign Fabrication. This full-time role focuses on designing, producing, and installing various signs and graphics for city needs and external agencies.
As a Leadhand in Sign Fabrication within the Engineering & Public Works department, you’ll utilize your graphic design skills and experience to create and manage sign projects. With a strong foundation in specialized software like Adobe Illustrator and Gerber Omega, you’ll lead a small team in sign production. Your expertise in materials and techniques will enhance visual communication throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and manufacture diverse signs and graphics
• Lay out and produce lettering for various surfaces
• Follow guidelines for regulatory signs and markings
• Coordinate the work of approximately two staff members
• Maintain production records and manage equipment repairs
Requirements:
• High school diploma; graphic design certification preferred
• Two years’ experience in sign making
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence
• IMSA Level 2 Certificate (32 hours)
• Proficient in graphic design software
