This is a great opportunity for someone with auto body or painting experience who is detail-oriented and ready to grow in a hands-on environment.Position OverviewThe Paint Helper supports the Paint Lead by preparing surfaces, assisting in paint application, and ensuring quality finishes on automotive and industrial components. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and removing grease, dirt, rust, or old paintMask and protect areas not being painted using tape and paperRemove and reinstall accessories such as mirrors and trimAssist with painting small parts and learn to meet industry paint quality standardsSelect and operate spray guns and apply correct paint materialsApply primers, sealers, undercoats, caulking, and protective coatingsInspect painted surfaces, identify defects, and help correct issuesPerform finishing work such as buffing and waxingOperate lifting or moving equipment as neededCross-train and assist in other departments when neededQualifications1-3 years of automotive painting or auto body experience required(No residential, commercial, or powder coating experience)Apprenticeship or formal training in automotive paint preferredStrong attention to detail and quality controlHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperience using spray guns and related painting equipmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical RequirementsAbility to perform medium to heavy liftingFrequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs (team lift required above 50 lbs)Ability to work at heights up to 20 feetComfortable in a physically demanding work environmentSafety RequirementsUse of OSHA-approved eye protection and respirator requiredMust follow all workplace safety proceduresWhat We’re Looking ForHardworking and dependable individualsTeam players with a positive attitudeDetail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality workIf you have experience in automotive painting and are ready to take the next step in your career, apply today with Express Employment Professionals!
