The problem we’re solving
NRIs don’t just struggle with managing money in India—they struggle with understanding what’s going on.
Confusing flows. Poor communication. Interfaces that assume too much context.
When someone is trying to move or track their money from another country, clarity isn’t a “nice to have”—it’s the product.
We’re building that clarity.
About the role
This is a hands-on product design role where you’ll work closely with product, engineering, and founders on real user problems.
You won’t be doing mock assignments or isolated components. You’ll work on live product surfaces used by real users, and your work will ship.
On any given week, you might be:
- Improving a confusing onboarding or KYC flow
- Designing screens that explain complex financial states simply
- Iterating on an existing feature based on user feedback
- Working with PMs to translate messy problem statements into clean flows
- Refining UI details—spacing, hierarchy, states—that improve usability
If you enjoy polishing pixels but also care about why something should exist, you’ll fit well here.
What you’ll work on (real examples)
- Simplifying high-friction user journeys (onboarding, transactions, tracking)
- Designing trust-building UI for financial actions
- Creating reusable components and contributing to design consistency
- Translating ambiguous product ideas into clear, structured flows
What we’re looking for
- Students or recent graduates with a strong interest in product design
- A portfolio that shows real thinking, not just visual polish
- Understanding of UX fundamentals: flows, hierarchy, states, usability
- Strong attention to detail (typography, spacing, alignment, consistency)
- Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements
Tools: Figma (must), others are a plus
Bonus (not mandatory):
- Experience working on real products (internships, side projects, shipped work)
- Interest in fintech or complex problem spaces
- Basic understanding of how products get built (handoff, dev constraints)
What success looks like (8–12 weeks)
- You’ve shipped design improvements that are live in the product
- Your designs require minimal hand-holding and are implementation-ready
- You’ve improved clarity or usability in at least one key user flow
- You’re able to explain your design decisions clearly—not just visually
What you get
- Real product exposure—not dummy work
- Direct feedback from experienced product and design thinkers
- Opportunity to work on high-impact user problems
- A steep learning curve in both UX thinking and execution
- Potential PPO based on performance
SBNRI Culture
35 million NRIs are trying to manage their money from thousands of miles away. Most of them don't trust anyone enough to help. We're building the company that changes that — and that requires a very specific kind of person.
If you're here, your work will be challenged. Not in reviews, not in quarterly feedback cycles — in the moment, by the person sitting next to you. A design will get torn apart because the NRI in Dubai would find it confusing. A campaign will get killed because the insight isn't sharp enough. A feature will get sent back because it solves our problem, not the user's. This is not a conflict. This is how craft works when people actually care.
We don't optimize for comfort. We optimize for the NRI sitting in San Jose at 11pm trying to figure out if their money in India is safe. That person deserves our best thinking, our fastest execution, and our most obsessive attention to detail.
If that standard feels like pressure, this isn't the right place.
If that standard feels like the point — you'll do the best work of your life here.
