Overview
Sales Representative (Fully Remote) – $120k/year OTE Jobs in Remote at Cape Cod Air Grilles Corporation
About the Role
Most sales jobs hand you a territory on paper and not much else — a login, a quota, and good luck. This one is different. You get a real product people are proud to put in their homes, a brand with a name that actually means something, and a territory you get to build and own.
We make premium hardwood registers — the kind that outlast the house they go in. You’ll sell them to contractors, builders, architects, and distributors across Connecticut who care about getting it right, plus the occasional homeowner who wants their project finished with something better than stamped metal. This role is equal parts new-business driver and trusted partner. If you can open doors and keep relationships warm for the long haul, you will do well here.
Who We Are
Cape Cod Air Grilles is a family shop that crafts premium hardwood registers, built on a simple idea: Honest Wood, Honest Work. We’ve been at this long enough to respect the tradition, and we’re not too set in our ways to shake it up with fresh design. We celebrate the wins, big and small, we laugh a lot along the way, and we believe kindness matters as much as craftsmanship. Old school meets new school. We’re not hiring a body to fill a seat — we’re hiring someone who wants to build a territory and a career with a crew that has their back.
What the Job Actually Is
You own Connecticut. You build the sales plan, then you go make it happen. You’ll prospect, qualify, and close new business across both the trade and direct-to-homeowner channels, and turn first orders into repeat accounts. Some of that is contractors and builders. Some is architects who spec the product. Some is distributors who stock it. You’ll keep everything organized in Salesforce so nothing slips through the cracks, and show up where it counts — the occasional trade show, event, or job site — to put a face to the brand.
This is a build-it role. The territory has room to grow into New York and Pennsylvania, and the person who builds Connecticut right gets first crack at it. If you need a fully built book handed to you, this is not your seat.
Compensation Overview
- Structure: Base salary plus commission
- Territory: Connecticut, with growth into New York and Pennsylvania
- Base and Year-One OTE: $120K
- Upside: Commission grows as you grow the territory
The person who builds Connecticut right earns more as the territory expands. You get a floor to stand on and real room to run.
Who Wins Here
- 5+ years in sales, ideally in building, construction, or architectural products
- A track record of targets hit and beaten
- Equally comfortable building a relationship with a distributor and closing a homeowner
- Organized from the first call to the last follow-up
- Brings ideas to the table and has the drive to build something rather than wait for it
- Salesforce and standard digital sales tools are second nature
You don’t need to know registers on day one — we’ll teach you the product. We can’t teach you the work ethic or the honesty.
This Role Isn’t a Fit If You…
- Have bounced between three or more sales jobs in the last two years
- Want a fully built territory handed to you and won’t prospect
- Are sharp on a first call but let relationships go cold
- Can’t keep yourself organized without someone on your back
- Treat a quality product as just another box to move
- Want the base to carry you and treat commission as a bonus
A Question Worth Sitting With Before You Apply
Tell us about a territory or a book of business you built from little or nothing. How did you land the first accounts, and how did you turn them into repeat business? In this seat, that’s the whole game — and the application is going to ask.
How to Apply
We run a thorough process, and we make no apologies for it. We’re not filling a seat for a quarter — we’re looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career here, and we hire like the decision matters, because it does.
Here’s the whole path, nothing hidden — two steps to apply, three interviews to earn the seat:
- Application – Answer all 15 questions on the application link. Treat them like the first sales call they are: thorough and specific. One-line answers tell us exactly how you’d treat a customer, so do the work.
- Personality test – A short assessment, no right or wrong answers. It’s how you qualify for the first interview, so it’s not a step to skip.
- First interview – Culture fit – We get to know the real you and find out whether this is a place you’d thrive.
- Second interview – Skill assessment – If you advance, you show us you can sell, usually with a short role-play. This is where closers separate from talkers.
- Final interview – Company alignment – The last conversation is about direction, making sure your goals and ours point the same way.
The right person reads all that and leans in. If that’s you, start your application here:
