Senior Retoucher (Automotive)
Job Description
The Senior Automotive Retoucher is responsible for producing high‑quality, photorealistic automotive imagery for US‑based clients and brands. This role requires deep expertise in automotive retouching, strong technical execution, and close collaboration with US creative, production, and post‑production teams. The Senior Automotive Retoucher plays a key role in maintaining visual excellence, brand consistency, and production efficiency across digital and print deliverables. In addition to hands‑on retouching, this role supports quality control, workflow optimization, and mentorship of mid‑level retouchers.
Key Responsibilities:
Automotive Retouching & Production
- Execute high‑end automotive retouching for photography and CGI‑based imagery.
- Preserve realism and accuracy in vehicle surfaces, paint, reflections, lighting, materials, shadows, and highlights.
- Perform advanced compositing, masking, cleanup, and enhancement of automotive exteriors and interiors.
- Ability to execute high‑quality general retouching beyond automotive, including lifestyle, product, and environmental imagery, supporting additional categories as business needs require.
- Ensure visual consistency across multiple angles, trims, markets, and asset versions.
- Prepare and deliver final assets for print, digital, web, social, and e‑commerce platforms.
Quality Control
- Conduct detailed quality checks to ensure assets meet US client standards and brand guidelines.
- Ensure correct color, contrast, detail, and file structure across deliverables.
- Maintain clean and organized Photoshop files following production best practices.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with CGI artists, designers, producers, and creative leads.
- Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining high craft standards.
- Communicate clearly with US‑based teams regarding timelines, expectations, and revisions.
Leadership & Support
- Mentor and support mid‑level retouchers through feedback and best‑practice guidance.
- Assist Lead Retouchers with workflow improvements and quality consistency.
- Contribute to the development of automotive retouching standards and documentation.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with automotive retouching trends, tools, and techniques.
- Evaluate AI‑assisted tools and automation responsibly to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of professional retouching experience, with a strong focus on automotive imagery.
- Proven experience working with international or US‑based clients.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high‑end automotive retouching and photorealism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Visual Communication, or equivalent professional experience.
- English proficiency at B2 (Upper‑Intermediate) level or higher.
Tools & Technology Skills
- Required
- Adobe Photoshop (expert level, non‑destructive workflows)
- Adobe Bridge or similar asset‑management tools
- Advanced masking, compositing, color correction, and file‑prep techniques
- Strong understanding of RGB and CMYK workflows, color profiles, and pre‑press standards
- Nice to Have
- Experience working with automotive CGI assets
- Basic knowledge of 3D tools (Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar)
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted retouching tools used in production environments
