About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Senior Sommelier to join Jumeirah Al Qasr from September 2026 onwards.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Oversee daily wine service operations across multiple outlets, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand standards.
- Curate and update wine lists in collaboration with the Head Sommelier, ensuring diversity and premium quality.
- Conduct advanced wine training sessions for Sommeliers and F&B staff to enhance product knowledge and service excellence.
- Manage wine cellar operations, including stock rotation, inventory control, and proper storage conditions.
- Monitor wine sales performance, analyse trends, and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with wine suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely deliveries.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years in luxury hospitality, with 2–3 years in sommelier leadership roles.
- Diploma/Degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts
- Certification from a recognized sommelier program (e.g., WSET Level 3 or Court of Master Sommeliers)
- Strong understanding of outlet operations, guest service standards, inventory management, and cost control.
