A growing craft beverage producer in one of Alberta’s most distinctive tourism regions is seeking a hands-on Tasting Room leader to oversee its guest-facing operation. This is a unique opportunity for a hospitality, retail, or food and beverage leader who enjoys building memorable guest experiences, developing local relationships, and helping a growing brand expand its reach. Rooted in local history, community, and craft, this organization has created a welcoming destination for visitors and locals alike. The tasting room is at the heart of the business, serving as both a retail environment and an experience-driven hospitality space where guests connect with the product, the story, and the region. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the tasting room, including guest service, sales, staff leadership, merchandising, inventory, reporting, and community engagement. This role is highly hands-on and best suited to someone who is comfortable leading from the floor, building relationships, and taking ownership of both the guest experience and business performance.

Description

  • Lead daily tasting room operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, inventory, cash handling, and POS management.
  • Deliver warm, engaging, and knowledgeable guest experiences that reflect the brand and its story.
  • Train, coach, and motivate a small team to provide consistent, high-quality service.
  • Drive sales through elevated hospitality, upselling, merchandising, promotions, and product knowledge.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, tourism partners, retailers, resellers, and event organizers.
  • Support product launches, seasonal offerings, ticketed events, promotions, and in-store activations.
  • Assist with local and regional delivery coordination, retail relationships, and broader sales growth initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable liquor regulations, health and safety standards, and internal policies.
  • Support operational administration, including ordering supplies, maintaining required documentation, and assisting with reporting.
  • Create a positive, accountable, and fun team environment.

Requirements

  • Leadership experience in hospitality, retail, tourism, food and beverage, or a related guest-facing environment.
  • Craft distillery, brewery, winery, or beverage alcohol experience would be considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service instincts and a genuine passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Confidence leading small teams and managing daily operations.
  • Sales-minded approach with the ability to engage guests and convert visits into purchases.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial, and community-connected environment.
